Julian is a solicitor and was admitted in 1976. He joined EPO in
October 1997, and he is a director of EPO and head of Crime.
He has practised in Criminal and Road Traffic law since his first
appointment as an Assistant Solicitor with Merthyr Tydfil Borough Council in 1976 when his main work was defending bus drivers . Since leaving MTBC in 1978 he has been in private practice, specialising mainly in Criminal law , although during that time he has also from time to time, carried a heavy caseload of Family law and Personal Injury cases . From 1984 until 1989 he lived in Israel, during which time he ceased to practise law and worked in the electronics industry. However he still had time to take the Israeli Bar exams and be admitted to the Israeli Bar. Since returning to the UK in 1989 he has predominately specialised in Criminal and Road Traffic law, and since 1995 has undertaken only this type of work. He is Hon. Sec. of the Criminal Law Solicitors Association; a member of the Criminal Law Committee of Birmingham Law Society; a member of the Regional Duty Solicitor Committee of the West Midlands, and a member of the Sutton Coldfield Local Criminal Justice Group. He is a family man at heart, a very keen football and opera supporter and enjoys travelling abroad.
